St. Michael's Parish Church, (13th century), Bishop Middleham, Co. Durham
The
organ has a very modest stop list (just seven stops, Great, 3, Swell
3 and Pedal 1), but is said to have a wonderful sweet sound typical
of its period. As far as is known it is unchanged from when
Harrison and Harrison installed it in 1884. The shutter doors are
mainly cosmetic, but they are opened during services. It has an
electric blower, but is still hand pumped on occasions when there is
a power cut.
